Mike Robinson

Biography:
Mike Robinson has recently taken up the position of Chief Executive for the Royal Scottish Geographical Society. Prior to this post he was Head of Development for the Royal Botanic Garden in Edinburgh since 2004. His team won the Institute of Fundraising UK Team of the year Award in 2007. From 1994 to 2004 he was the Head of Marketing for the RSPB in Scotland. He is an active voluntary member of several organisations including Chair of Stop Climate Chaos Scotland, a Board Member for the Scottish Environment Link, Council Member for the National Trust for Scotland and a Development Board Member of the Soil Association. His previous successes include establishing and running Scottish Wildlife and Countryside Fair, Nadair and Viking Heaths. Creating Going Solar which won Best Renewable Initiative in Scottish Green Energy Awards 2003 and the Hollis UK Environment Sponsorship Award 2001, ICFM Corporate Sponsorship Award 2000. Mike is a keen squash player, mountaineer and father of three.
